Dâmbovița Key
The biggest river that has its course through Bucharest, Dâmbovița makes a must be on your Instagram location while in the center of the city! The river itself may be a beautiful sight, but nothing compares to the view from the bridges on the river! And with a little luck, you’ll also spot ducks, pigeons and even seagulls!
Also, near Dâmbovița you will be able to observe many fishermen – not professionals, just elder people who like to spend their time near the water. It’s just something that anyone who comes to the city won’t miss, because they’re close to everywhere.

Kretzulescu Church
Kretzulescu Church is an Eastern Orthodox church close to the city center, built between 1720-1722. The church is one of the pieces of architecture that were almost destroyed in time – and one that reminds us that we should be grateful for what we have, until it’s gone.
The church has survived two of the most powerful earthquakes in the 20th century and also the communist rulers’ wish to be demolished. Even though the church was on the verge of being completely destroyed over the years, it still stands tall on Calea Victoriei and is open to visitors.

Romanian Architects Union HQ
The HQ of the Romanian Architects Union or the “Cyborg Building” is one of the most bizarre buildings in Romania. Historical monument at base, transformed into a modern building rising to the sky on top, we guarantee that the mix of bricks and glass will make good content for your feed.
The story behind this strange design consists of a fire started in the old building, which partly destroyed it. Being a historical monument, its demolition was not permitted, so the architects decided to build something to represent the present, while keeping the memory of the past.

Central University Library
Let us tell you something about the Central University Library’s history, in order to better understand its meaning for Romanians and what it represents as a monument in Bucharest. The big statue with the man on the horse represents King Carol I of Romania, a big name for the country’s history.
He bought the land on which the French architect Paul Gottereau designed the library. This makes the Central University Library another construction that gives Bucharest the name of “Little Paris”. Now you are ready to take pictures of the library or even find new #history hashtags.

Romanian Athenaeum
You don’t have to be a classical music lover to enjoy one of the most recognised landmarks in Bucharest, the Romanian Athenaeum! The overall style is inspired from the neoclassical era, with some romantic touches. The front of the building consists of a park that hosts a statue of Mihai Eminescu, the greatest Romanian poet.
On the inside circular wall of the Athenaeum you will find a fresco that tells the story of Romania through centuries, starting from the conquest of Dacia by the Romans, to the realization of the Greater Romania after the First World War.
And while you make lots of stories for your Instagram account, you can also go to Benjamin Franklin Street which is right behind the Athenaeum, to find even more spots to photograph.
